S.S.O is a private observatory located in  Tahiti French Polynesia. built in 1991 , In 1998 It obtain  the IAU/MPC code 930 

Principle areas of research are Variable stars. (Run time serie) , supernovae and minor planet analysis, and since 2006 collaborator  to  Microfun

Since March 2007 , There is a hight light pollution , caused by street light , in the street near Observatory

C11 Telescope  

The observatory is a roll of roof of 9.7' X 9.7' .

 

The Telescope

The telescope is a  Celestron 11" (C11) operated at F/D 10 or F/D 5.5 on a G11 mount from Losmandy with a Skywalker II goto system


 

 

 

The Camera

the main camera is a ST7XE from Sbig

 

Control


Since 2005 the Observatory is controled from home by a local network ( LAN)
